“These food items will keep your good-night kisses at bay”
All the best first dates involve some kind of food or drink. Flavor stimulates the palate, which is a great way to encourage the rest of the body’s systems to kick into gear. Food can be a powerful aphrodisiac because it involves making everything just plain feel good, and introducing physical pleasure early in the evening makes everything go better the whole night through.
However, not every story has a happy ending. There are some foods that you should ALWAYS avoid if you’re going to be attempting to hook up with a date later, whether you met her on a dating site or in person. These foods will ruin your night for one reason or another, and you don’t want to be stuck going home alone just because you made the wrong choice on the menu. After all, it can’t be that hard to avoid:
Garlic & Onions
This is the mack daddy of things that you want to avoid eating on a first date. Even if you don’t think your breath will stink, your breath will stink. It’s extremely important that if you want to get laid, you make yourself sexy to the girl you’re going out with. That means putting on a nice shirt without stains, making sure that you’ve shaved and lotioned everything that needs to be shaved and lotioned, and making sure your breath doesn’t stink. You brushed your teeth before your date-don’t risk needing to sneak off to the bathroom to do it again. Garlic and onions can make your breath stink for hours, so you can pretty much forget about sexy goodnight kisses if you’re having any of these with any course of your meal.
Spinach & Greens
No, spinach isn’t exactly a stinky food, and you can always do well by coming across as very health-conscious. The point is that this one isn’t so much stinky as it is gross for other reasons. If you get a piece of spinach stuck in your teeth, she doesn’t know you well enough that she’ll be comfortable with telling you it’s there. It might even hide up under your lips or in your gums until later, when it comes down and plasters over a tooth. The point is, if you’re going to eat some leafy greens, you’d better make sure to have a trip to the bathroom to wash out your mouth directly afterwards and check every bit of it in the mirror.
Beans & Brussels Sprouts
“Don’t eat such food items on your first date”
Bodily functions are nothing to be ashamed of, sure. However, there are certain things-like legumes and cruciferous vegetables-that shouldn’t be ingested on a first date. Unless you’re comfortable with this girl being witness to the explosion of gas you’re going to suffer through later on (and you shouldn’t be that comfortable with her, this is your first date, dude), you’re going to want to avoid these at any cost. Don’t worry, there are plenty of good foodsyou can eat that won’t completely embarrass you, and you can always eat more of those foods you love on subsequent dates.
